Dentist

David Motz was born in Bennett, Iowa. In his freshman year of high school, his family moved to Perry, Iowa where he graduated in the top 10% of his class, and participated in several sports and school activities.

Dr. Motz graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 2001. Prior to attending dental school, Dr. Motz  graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and participated in basketball and baseball.

Dr. Motz began his career in dentistry at the Siouxland Community Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa. While in Sioux City, he was instrumental in re-vitalizing the dental program and expanding services. After 2 years of practicing in Sioux City, Dr. Motz moved to Sioux Falls, SD to assist in expanding dental services at the Falls Community Health Center. After 5 years of public service, he decided to look for an opportunity that would enable his wife, Christy and their three boys, Hudson age 7, Bennett age 5, and Sullivan age 1 to be closer to their families who live in the Des Moines area.

In July of 2006, he started All About Smiles,PC. Dr. Motz’s sole purpose is to provide you with the best possible care while building personal relationships with his patients. He encourages patients to be a part of the treatment decision process and welcomes any questions that you have. Dr. Motz is a member of the American Dental Association and Iowa Dental Association.

Dental Hygienist

Krissy has over 18 years of experience providing dental hygiene services to patients of all ages. She is very skilled and has extensive training in several areas of dentistry including local anesthesia, nitrous oxide sedation, and periodontal therapy. Krissy and her husband Stan, live in Melbourne and have three children. Ross is 11 and very active in sports. She also has twin girls Rachel and Riley who are 2 years old. Krissy enjoys teaching and helping patients keep their smile for a lifetime.  We are fortunate to have a qualified, genuine, professional; such as Krissy on our team.

Office Manager

Shelly has several years of experience as a chairside dental assistant and office manager.  She is knowledgable in insurance processing, flex accounts, financing options, and dental procedures.  This allows her to assist all patients with scheduling appointments, updating necessary paperwork, and work with each patient to help them understand their insurance coverage .  Our office strives to provide each patient with an accurate estimate of what portion insurance will cover and what portion the patient will be responsible for.

Shelly and her family live in Huxley.

Karla has been a registered dental assistant for over 10 years. She enjoys working with the public and helping others. Karla strives to ensure that each patient is comfortable and relaxed during their appointment.

Karla and her husband Randy live south of St. Marys. She enjoys the outdoors and fills her spare time with gardening, fishing, and camping.

Dental Assistant

Ashley resides in the East Des Moines area.  She graduated from the dental assisting program through DMACC in December 2007.  Ashley and Ryan have 2 children, a son, Gaven who is 7 years old and a daughter, Bridgit, who is 5 years old.  She enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  Ashley believes she has found a new home and family here at All About Smiles, PC.  We are excited to have her on our team.
